My passion for sustainable development drove me to analyze historical water pollution in Los Angeles, using advanced tools like Stata and Python to integrate econometric models and GIS techniques, aiming to contribute to more informed environmental public policy.
In my research on Shanxi's economic conditions, I sought to understand the region's unique challenges, using my findings to propose solutions that earned the prestigious 'China Thinks Big' award and recognition at John Hopkins' MUSE conference.
I am deeply committed to leveraging data science to address environmental and economic issues, believing that rigorous research can lead to practical policies that positively impact communities and ecosystems.
My projects reflect a dedication to understanding complex problems at the intersection of environment and economics, striving to generate insights that are both scientifically robust and policy-relevant.
Ultimately, my goal is to influence global policies through research that not only highlights problems but also offers innovative, scalable solutions, thereby fulfilling my dream of contributing to a sustainable and equitable world.
Shanxi's Economic Research
Originating from a grassroots project in Yongquan, Shanxi, this research aimed at alleviating local economic challenges through entrepreneurial initiatives. Over seven years, I engaged with local farmers and businesses, understanding and addressing their needs. The project culminated in the development of an online platform that significantly boosted local incomes by facilitating the sale of agricultural products. This work not only honed my analytical skills but also had a direct positive impact on the community, earning recognition at the "China Thinks Big" competition.

Environmental Public Policy Research:
As a research assistant at UCLA under Professor Adriana Lleras-Muney, I focused on environmental economics and public health. Utilizing Stata and Python, I analyzed historical data on water pollution from 1945 to 2000. I developed innovative econometric models, including Difference-in-Differences, to measure the impact of economic policies on environmental health. My research contributes valuable insights into the effects of policy interventions on water quality, enhancing our understanding of public health dynamics.
Artistic Endeavors and Advocacy:
My artistic work focuses on themes of women's rights and empowerment. Exhibited at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and featured on CCTV, my pieces have garnered significant attention and accolades for their poignant portrayal of women’s issues. Additionally, my collaboration with MAYLOVE, an organization advocating for sexual health and women’s rights, amplifies the impact of my art, making it a catalyst for social change and awareness.
